Chico State adds a homer

Per Luke Reid, former Chico High multi-sport athlete Jessie Holmes is moving over to the hardwood next season and will play in the backcourt for Coach Greg Clink and Chico State.

Additions to the SJCC roster

This tweet indicates four new talents are joining the San Jose City College program -- The Nor Cal Report: "F Jonah Underwood (Willow Glen); P Deondrick Wright (Richmond); W Kurtis McCoy and PG "Bam" King (Roosevelt/Fresno)."

Underwood stands 6-foot-8 and was previously at Bellarmine Prep, Wright is a 2012-er (not sure about his ballin' days) while McKoy is 6-foot-4 and a 2014-er and King is 6-foot-3.

Salaam to B-C

SJCC Basketball tweeted: "Congrats to 6'4" wing Josue Salaam who has committed to D1 Bethune-Cookman (MEAC)."

Salaam averaged 5.0 points as a 6-foot-4 wing last season.

SJCC's Sterling moves on

From SJCC Basketball: "Congrats to 6'4" Chris Sterling who has committed to NAIA powerhouse Arizona Christian."

Sterling is a sophomore out of Delano High who averaged 16.0 points and 7.2 rebounds in 2014-15. Former Jaguar Bobby Gray played at AC this season.

Ramsey with strong season

From Contra Costa College Men's Basketball comes the season highlights for former Comet guard Kenonte Ramsey who played for Brandon University in Canada. He averaged 16.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.6 steals.

Chaminade announces the addition of Goodwin

From Chaminade athletics:

Chaminade University men's basketball head coach Eric Bovaird announced Friday that junior college swingman Rohndell Goodwin will join the Silverswords for the 2015-16 season.

Goodwin played the last two seasons at Cañada College in Redwood City, Calif., earning Northern California JUCO Player of the Year honors last season averaging 17.0 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. He also helped guide the Colts to their first California Community College championship semifinal appearance since 1994.

"Rohndell is a very versatile player," Bovaird said. "He has the ability to knock down shots from the 3 and score in a variety of ways on the interior. He is an unselfish player that really wants to win."

Goodwin also averaged 2.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game at Cañada, shooting at a 51.6 percent clip from the floor and 37.4 percent from 3-point range.

"He has the ability to be one of the best defensive players in our conference with the ability to guard the 1-5 positions," Bovaird said. "We are happy that he decided to join the Chaminade 'ohana."

Interesting collection of possibilities for St. Mary's opening

From Hoop Dirt: "Some names have surfaced in the search to replace assistant Jim Shaw at St. Mary’s (CA). Shaw recently became the head coach at his alma mater Western Oregon.  The names that I have heard are: Chris Cobb (assistant coach Montana), Rodney Tention (former assistant at San Diego – former head coach at Loyola Marymount), and Danny Yoshikawa (former assistant at San Francisco and UC Santa Barbara). I have also been told that former Nevada head coach David Carter could be a name to keep an eye on here."

Hatch to the Lone Star State

Cañada College point Kenny Hatch has signed with Texas A&M International. The 6-foot sophomore out of St. Ignatius High averaged 8.3 points plus 4.0 assists for Coach Mike Reynoso as the Colts finished 24-7 overall and in the State Final Four. TAMI is a DII program in Laredo, Texas.
