Below are the scores from Tuesday night games involving northern California teams:

* Cosumnes River College 69 - Santa Rosa Junior College 58 box

For CRC, Mitchell (Burbank High) Love was in front with both 22 points and seven assists plus six rebounds while David (Burbank High) Straughter just missed a double-double at 19 points and nine boards. Donald (Center High) Mims recorded five blocks in 26 minutes.

For SRJC, Corey (Cardinal Newman High) Hammell paced the scoring with 17 points, Davone (Castlemont High) Oliver finished with 15 and Siann (Concord High) Rojas contributed 10.

For SCC, freshman guard Kellen (Rodriguez High) Hill led with 15 points and added four rebounds plus three assists.

* Diablo Valley College 78 - Modesto Junior College 40

"The Modesto Junior College Pirates concluded the first half of the Big 8 Conference basketball season with a performance they would rather forget.

Diablo Valley netted 16 three-pointers, eight in each half, and raced to an easy 78-40 win over the Pirates (5-14, 2-5 Big 8) on Tuesday night. Modesto trailed 39-18 at halftime and managed only three points in the first 12 minutes of the second half.

The Vikings (12-10, 4-3), who placed third in the MJC Tournament last month, featured Jelani Hardaway with 26 points, 18 of them via triples.

“They got hot tonight, and there was nothing we could do,” MJC coach Paul Brogan said.

Marko Lepovic scored 10 points for the Pirates..."
