The Diablo Valley College men's basketball team is a perfect 10 thus far.
Vikings coach Steve Coccimiglio's balanced 10-player squad remained unbeaten with three victories in the DVC Chevron Invitational last week. The Vikings beat Merritt 58-46 in Sunday's championship game, after dusting Feather River 67-64 and Solano 74-55.
Diablo Valley (6-0) is ranked No. 1 in the state in the JCscores.com coaches' poll. Chabot (5-1) is ranked seventh, Las Positas (5-2) eighth, and Merritt (6-3) 11th.
"We're not overwhelmingly talented, but I think the chemistry is good," said Coccimiglio, in his 21st season, who has a 488-189 career record. "If we stay healthy I think we'll have a good season..."
