McKines wowing them

Wendell McKines is making quite the impression in the Philippine Basketball Association:
With an explosive first step and incredible upper body strength McKines has been virtually unstoppable at the post bulldozing his way inside the paint for easy baskets. Because of this he is right now the league’s most creative scorer from inside the paint.

Another yet to be tapped potential is his accurate shooting from outside. Alaska Aces head coach Luigi Trillo likes to play McKines inside to help in rebounding. But with the Aces just at the middle of the pack McKines may start firing away from three-point distance to give his team more variety on offense.

During the Alaska Aces practice at the Gatorade Hoopz Center just prior to their match against Petron McKines stayed after their regular practice to hone his outside shooting.

When asked if he was doing extra work for their crucial game against Petron he sternly answered: “No. I’m not practicing hard for Petron. I practice hard every day.”
