Host UC Irvine downed UC Riverside 70-52 Saturday night with Chris McNealy finishing with 10 points plus five steals. Sophomore teammate Mike Best added seven points, six rebounds and three blocked shots.
For the Highlanders, Taylor Johns didn't shoot well but still contributed 12 points, 10 boards, four blocks, three assists and a pair of steals.
