Chico handles Pomona

Chico State bested Cal Poly Pomona 77-73 last night to enter the California Collegiate Athletic Association tournament championship game against Cal State Stanislaus.

Each member of the starting five for the Wildcats scored in double figures and did the entire scoring for Chico. Jordan Semple led with 24 points (plus 11 boards for a double-double), Amir Carraway had 18, Rashad Parker and Giordano Estrada offered 12 points apiece and Sean Park totaled 11.

The Wildcats weren't as accurate, finishing with a 42% overall shooting accuracy to 54% for CPP but Coach Greg Clink's crew sank 11 more free throws despite having just a + 2 lead in attempts.

The ChicoER game reports as does Luke Reid/Chico athletics.
