Mike Kurtz, out of Woodcreek High, is back for his final season at Biola in southern California. A captain this season, the 7-footer averaged 10.8 points plus 7.9 rebounds last season, shooting 54%, 40% and 83% respectively. He also swatted away 60 opposing shots.
A snippet from his bio: "Kurtz has finished top-five in the nation in blocks per game in both seasons with the Eagles. He is currently tied with Emilio Kovacic atop the Eagles' all-time record book in blocks per game with 2.5. He is also third on the all-time list in total blocks (156), despite only playing two seasons with the Eagles so far."
