Two northern California talents are returning to the 2014-15 Utah Valley Wolverines roster, one who played a major role last year:
6-foot-7 Zach Nelson, out of Yuba City High, returned from his LDS mission and enjoyed a tremendous freshman season, averaging 10.5 points and 7.3 boards. He shot 52% overall plus was second on the squad with 109 assists and 32 blocked shots in 31 minutes a contest.
6-foot-5 Brenden Evans, out of Sonora High and Modesto Junior College, was honored for his academics, having achieved a 3.2 or higher grade point average as a junior. He also averaged 2.5 points and rebounds in just above 10 minutes an outing.
UVU won the regular season Western Athletic Conference championship last season with a 13-3 league record.
