In an intriguing matchup on many levels, St. Mary's proved to be three points better than UC Irvine, 72-69, last night in Moraga. Gael center Brad (Ponderosa High) Waldow went for 28 points and seven rebounds, included two critical free throws near the end. Desmond (Salesian High) Simmons led with nine boards (four offensively) and six points.
For the Anteaters, Travis (Turlock High) Souza finished with 12 points alongside three steals. Will (Sacramento High) Davis contributed seven points plus four caroms.
