Cal Maritime athletics:

"California Maritime advanced to the California Pacific Conference men's basketball championship game for the fifth year in a row with an 80-60 win over La Sierra in the first semifinal game of the 2015 men's basketball tournament.

CMA, which is hosting the tournament in its brand new facility, will play #2 Simpson on Monday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m., for a shot at returning to the NAIA championship tournament for a fourth consecutive year.

The top-seeded Keelhaulers improve to 18-9 by beating the Golden Eagles for the third time this year.

Zach Davis and Kameron Hoyt, both all-Cal Pac first-team selections, led four Keelhaulers in double figures. Davis, a junior forward, led all scorers with 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field. Hoyt posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, making 6-of-8 shots from the field including 3-of-5 three pointers. Clayton White and Dominique Barnes added ten points apiece.

La Sierra's Kevin Batise and Robert Looper each scored 10 points for the Golden Eagles.

CMA was deadly from the field, nailing 55.6% from the field while limiting LSU to just 39.3%.

LSU led 18-17 midway through the first half, but the Keelhaulers edged out to a 40-31 halftime advantage, then kept the lead in double-digits for the final 16 minutes of the game."
