Fresno Bee:
"Just like that.
The season is over for the Fresno City College men’s basketball team — one of the favorites to take home the state championship as the No. 1 seed in the Northern California Regional.
Foothill was seeded No. 17 but made 11 3-pointers — going 7 of 9 in the first half — to pull off a 72-64 upset over the Rams on Saturday in a second-round game of the regional. The loss snapped what was a 19-game winning streak for Fresno City (28-4).
The Rams were down as many as seven early in the second half but found some life when Dejon Burdeaux scored four straight points to give Fresno City a 52-49 lead with 9:47 remaining.
But the Owls (14-16) fought right back to tie it 52-52 on Janvier Alaby’s 3-pointer with 8:27 remaining. Alaby made another jumper that gave Foothill a 54-52 advantage with 7:43 left and the Owls never looked back.
Fresno City opened the game leading 9-3 and went into halftime up 29-27 on Liam O’Reilly’s putback basket.
Seth Turner finished with a game-high 17 points for Foothill. He finished with three 3-pointers — all coming in the first half. Burdeaux led the Rams with 13 points."
