In an unusual circumstance last Friday, seniors Joe Slocum and Travante Williams for Alaska Fairbanks were on the opposite side against junior Vincent Golson of Cal State Dominguez Hills. Each has a degree from City College of San Francisco.
Host AF won the pairing 81-73 with Williams enjoying a 16 point, 15 rebound double-double and Slocum scoring 12 points. Golson posted a 17 point, five rebound line.
Slocum and Williams played together as Rams in the 2012-13 season. Williams and Golson teamed up in the 2013-14 season. Not sure if any of them found themselves matching up with a former teammate during the game but they certainly should have been prepared with intimate knowledge of skills and weaknesses.
