Taylor Johns made some critical plays late and finished with 26 points, six rebounds, four assists and a pair of blocked shots as host UC Riverside edged Long Beach State 74-72 yesterday. He shot 9-12, 1-1 and 7-8 respectively.
Freshman guard Noah Blackwell played well for The Beach via 11 points and three assists, shooting 4-6 overall plus 3-3 from beyond the arc.
