"Gokul (Cupertino High) Natesan's record-breaking weekend has earned him RMAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
It is the second career RMAC Defensive Player of the Week honor for the Colorado School of Mines junior, who leads the league with 2.0 steals per game and was the RMAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
Natesan set a new Mines record with nine steals against New Mexico Highlands as part of a dominant defensive weekend for the Orediggers. Natesan's nine thefts mark the third-highest ever in RMAC history and most since 2002. He added two steals and a block against Western New Mexico on Saturday. For the weekend, Natesan averaged 5.5 steals, 4.0 assists, 22.0 points, and 2.0 rebounds per game, while opponents scored only 59.5 points per game shooting 35.7%."
On the season, Natesan is averaging 20.7 points, 3.5 assists and 3.4 rebounds.
