Bryson Breaks School's Career Three-Point Record

"UC Santa Barbara senior Michael Bryson (Sacramento, CA/Foothill HS) reached a couple of career milestones in addition to earning his second Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award this season.

It was also Bryson’s fifth career weekly honor.

Bryson’s 13 points in a 78-63 win at CSUN earned him the distinction as the eighth player in UCSB history to eclipse 1,500 career points.  He scored 19 more points at Cal State Fullerton to fuel an 80-62 win.  He now sits at 1,523 career points.

The 6-4 guard drained eight three-pointers in the two wins, including five in the CSF win.  The five three-point baskets gave him 223 for his career, becoming UCSB’s all-time leader and taking the baton from James Powell (221).

Bryson shot 52.2 percent (12 of 23) from the field and 61.5 percent (8 of 13) from three-point range for the week.  He also pulled down 12 rebounds, dished out three assists and recorded a steal and blocked shot as the Gauchos extended their winning streak to a season-best six straight games."
