Fresno Pacific University Coach C.J. Haydock has announced his 2016-17 roster and three newcomer talents from northern California are present and accounted for:
Mike Crawley
6'4" - Guard
Fresno City College/Antioch, Calif.
Originally from Antioch, California, Crawley captained a Fresno City team that finished 28-7 and appeared in the state Final Four. He averaged 9.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game and was named honorable-mention All-Northern California.
Haydock on Crawley
"Mike really epitomizes the qualities that make coach Madec's program at Fresno City so successful. His ability to defend multiple positions, attack the basket, to rebound at a really efficient rate for his size, his character, leadership and toughness are things we could not be more thrilled to add to our program."
Vika Jimenez
6'4" - Guard
Skyline College/San Francisco
Jimenez averaged 14.8 points per game to go with almost six rebounds and three assists while playing for head coach Justin Piergrossi at Skyline College. He was named honorable-mention All-Northern California, as well as first-team All-Conference.
Haydock on Jimenez
"Vika was our first commitment in this class and really stuck with us from the beginning. He is a tremendous young man who is a great teammate and will bring a mature perspective to our team. Vika has an ability to score the ball at a high level in a variety of ways, as well as the ability to defend multiple positions and has a complete commitment to doing whatever it takes to help his team win."
Jordan Belasco
5'10" - PG
Delta College/Lodi, Calif.
Belasco completed his two years at San Joaquin Delta College in 2014-2015. His sophomore year he averaged 13.8 points per game and led the state of California in assists with 8.2 per game. He shot 38 percent from three and 86 percent from the free throw line while leading his team to a 19-10 record.
Haydock on Belasco
"Jordan is a guy we became aware of late, and are really excited he decided to join our program. He's a high character young man from a great family, and he has a very cerebral approach to his game. He's very steady at the point guard spot, handles, shoots and passes it very well. We think he is a steal for us, and can't wait to coach him every day."
