Saint Martin's University head men's basketball coach Alex Pribble announced the addition of ... Rico Nuno to the 2016-17 team.
Nuno is a transfer from Eastern Washington University and Diablo Valley. During the 2015-16 season, he played in 17 games and shot 67 percent from the field. Due to an injury he missed the rest of the season. At Diablo Valley, Nuno was a first team All-Big 8 Conference selection averaging 10 points and seven rebounds in the 2014-15 season. He had 22 points and 13 rebounds against Sierra College and 19 points and 12 boards versus San Joaquin Delta College.
He graduated from Half Moon Bay in 2014 where he was the MVP of the Peninsula Athletic League and was an All-Metro selection in San Francisco. He averaged 13.2 points and eight rebounds as a senior, helping his team enjoy its best season in school history with a 26-7 record overall and perfect 12-0 league mark.
"Rico is a young man with tremendous potential," said Pribble. "He has all the tools to be very successful as a student and as an athlete, and we look forward to helping him reach that potential. He has been well coached at Diablo Valley College and Eastern Washington University, and we look forward to helping him continue his development."
