From John Devine: "E.J. Rowland is playing professional basketball this year for BK Khimki in Russia. A former VTB United League Most Valuable Player in 2013, the guard is leading his Russian team in assists at 3.6 per game.
The 33-year-old Rowland is also third on the team in scoring at 11.4 points per game, while averaging just under three rebounds through nine games.
Over the last decade, the 6-foot-2 Rowland has spent most of his career in Germany, with a stint last year in Turkey. He was the United League scoring champion in 2013 and a playoff MVP in 2014.
Rowland was a three-year starting guard at Palma before leading Hartnell College to a spot in the state tournament in 2002. He helped St. Mary’s reach the NCAA Tournament in 2003."
