Standifer owned November

We’d also like to take a moment to congratulate Charles Standifer on being named Cosumnes River College’s Student-Athlete of the Month for November. Standifer, who transferred to CRC from the University of San Francisco, currently leads the state in scoring with 25 points per game, while also contributing over seven rebounds per contest, in leading the Hawks to a 4-2 record in November to open the season.  Standifer shot nearly 60% from the field for the month of November, including over 36% from the perimeter, and scored 30 points on two occasions. He has also scored at least 20 points in every game this season except for one. Standifer’s contributions extend to the defensive side as well, as he is currently the leader in nearly all statistical categories for the Hawks, including rebounding, steals and blocked shots. Once again, we’d like to congratulate Charles Standifer for his tremendous performance over the month of November, and wish him the best moving forward this season.

Standifer honored

At last weekend's Cosumnes River College Tournament, Charles Standifer of CRC was named the most valuable player.

Standifer starts strong

It's early but after three games, Cosumnes River College talent Charles Standifer, leads the state in scoring at 24.7 point per game.

Three more Nor Cal talents to Consumnes River

The word from Consumnes River College Coach James Giacomazzi is that he has three more players lined up for next season:

* 6-foot-5 Charles Standifer Jr., the former Capital Christian High standout and transfer from the University of San Francisco

* 5-foot-11 Rodney Cook, the former Bethel High standout and MVP of the Solano County Athletic League

* 6-foot-3 Brenden Glapion, the former MVP of the AAA conference in San Francisco at Washington High and most recently Seattle University.

Earlier, Giacomazzi announced that Skyline High's Paris Davis, the MVP of the 2011-12 Oakland Athletic League, was CRC-bound.

Standifer to Fullerton

Word is that former USF wing Charles Standifer has made the decision to attend Cal State Fullerton and play for Coach Bob Burton. The 6-foot-5 sophomore will pay his own way his initial season.

Fullerton is loaded with NorCal talents as former USF backcourter Mike Williams will also be there as will American River College point Chris (Laguna Creek High) Carvin plus Kwame Vaughn, D.J. Seeley, Sammy Yeager, Jordan Knox and Alex Harris.
