A thoughtful article on one who didn't make it

I didn't know who the subject in the following story is let alone his background and storyline but here's hoping he finds happiness and satisfaction in his life.

We have a tendency to simplistically label individuals in life and that certainly applies in matters related to the sports world. See someone tall = gotta be a basketball player. Wide = probably football.

But we too often fail to see who the actual individual is beyond any sports-related facade. I don't know what passions Chris Marcus has but it wasn't basketball and there is nothing wrong with that. He needed a mentor/friend who could help and support him in developing himself as an individual, unrelated to what he could do or become on the basketball court.
