It was Dominique Lee's 21/15 double-double that powered Casper College to a 64-60 win over Central Wyoming College last Saturday night.

Jack Knowlin reports on Casper College's 79-65 win over Lamar on Saturday, a victory aided by Dominique Lee (12 points, nine rebounds, four steals) and Demetrius Lee (four rebounds, two points, one steal).

Casper (Wyoming) College won again 87-60 over visiting Cloud County Community College Friday night with Dominique Lee contributing eight point and Demetrius Lee providing five points plus four rebounds.

In a 97-88 Casper College victory over Laramie County, former St. Mary's wing Dominique Lee contributed 15 points.

Casper College took down Eastern Wyoming last night 87-57 -- repping St. Mary's High, Dominique Lee totaled four points and seven rebounds while Demetrius Lee posted three points.

Talked with Casper College Coach Joel Davidson recently in order to get updates on former St. Mary's High players Dominique and Demetrius Lee.

Davidson noted that the photos of both (on the Thunderbird Facebook page) reading to elementary school children took place during finals week at Casper and that the Lees volunteered to do so because of the persons they are and having their academics in order.

Dominique scored 6.5 points (55% shooting) and grabbed 4.3 rebounds this past season but was hindered by injuries (a shin stress fracture and then later a concussion when he got clipped going for a rebound). Dom played in 20 games and averaged 12 minutes a contest. He mostly played at the four spot due to the team composition. "We'll be playing him at the four and the three this season," Davidson noted, who also said "Dominique is 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds now."

Demetrius redshirted this past season after starting 30 games as a freshman. Davidson said he'll be using him to guard anywhere from the one to the three and that "Demetrius is definitely one of the better defenders in our league." He added, "we're trying to slow Demetrius down offensively. He wants to be as aggressive on offense as he is on defense."

He added, "Both the Lee's are great kids and have had a positive influence on our campus. They get along with everyone and handle their business academically. We are expecting big things out of both of them this season. They will be great role models for our incoming freshman."

In Davidson's biography, his preferred style of play is described as "... Davidson loves to coach an up-tempo brand of basketball. He likes that style for a couple of reasons – his players love to play that way and fans love to watch it. Intense defense for 94 feet can produce turnovers and easy baskets. That's the goal."

That is a perfect matchup for both Lees.

Both are on track to graduate.

An update on the Lees

Dominique Lee and Demetrius Lee are both at Casper Community College in Wyoming. Dom had his season interrupted by injury and Demetrius redshirted the year -- both will be sophomores in the upcoming go-around. Here they are reading to elementary school students in Casper:

Dominique (St. Mary's) Lee was at Casper Community College this season. Injured the first half of the schedule, he ended up participating in seven games.

His numbers: in seven games (an average of 12 minutes each time out), Lee scored 5.9 points and grabbed 3.3 rebounds a contest. He shot 52%, 29% and 60% overall plus went for a nice right assists to just a pair of turnovers.

Brother Demetrius, redshirted this season.

Former St. Mary's High star Dominique Lee is at Casper College in Wyoming this season and starting to make some noise. Here's an excerpt from this article:

“There’s no doubt that we’re a better team with Jerrold [Brooks] and Dominique [Lee] in the lineup,” [Casper College Coach Joel] Davidson said. “But it all comes down to what we do on the defensive end of the floor.”

... Lee, a 6-5 freshman wing, averages 6.5 ppg. He’s one of 10 players averaging at least five points per game for the T-Birds.

Dominique (St. Mary's High) Lee totaled 13 points and nabbed five rebounds in Casper College's 99-65 triumph. He has been injured and this was his initial significant playing time this season.

Dominique Lee is at Casper College in Wyoming after transferring from Utah (think the Utes wish they had him now?) and got back on the court last night (he has been injured all season). Dom played 13 minutes for the 8-2 Thunderbirds, finishing with three points, two blocks and a pair of rebounds. His brother, Demetrius, is redshirting this season, due to injury.

Dominique Lee invited to a national junior college camp

From the Casper College Thunderbird site:

"The most popular exposure camps for junior college athletes will have a T-Bird flavor this summer. Jerry Mullen hosts Mullen’s JuCo Top 100 Camp and Mullen’s JC Showcase. Both the camp and showcase take place in July and are by invitation only. Every Division I school who recruits junior college basketball will be represented in St. Louis. This year ... Dominique Lee will be playing in the camp."

"The top Junior College camp in the country is moving to a new location.  For the past 20 years, Jerry Mullen has hosted his Junior College camp in July at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK.This year, the camp is on the move to Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO (just outside of St. Louis).

The Top 100 JuCo Camp is an invite only exposure event that features the top 100 Junior College players from around the country.  The event will take place July 9-10, 2011"

Dominique Lee joining brother Demetrius Lee

Former St. Mary's High star Dominique Lee has departed from Utah due to the coaching change there and is joining brother Demetrius Lee for a season at Casper College in Wyoming.

Joel Davidson and staff announce the signing of University of Utah transfer, Dominique Lee, to the Casper College Thunderbird program on Monday.  Dominique will join a familiar face in Casper as his twin brother, Demetrius Lee, played his freshman year for Coach Davidson and will be returning for his sophomore season.  Last season at Utah, Dominique red-shirted and practiced with Utah, so he will technically be coming in as a freshman for the T-Birds next season...
