Brown tops Missouri but Ole Miss does too

Jabari Brown didn't shoot all that (4-13) well but still led Missouri with his 13 points and seven boards in a 64-49 loss to Mississippi.

Brown paces Mizzou

Missed this from the other night: Jabari Brown scored 22 points in an 84-68 Missouri homecourt win over Alabama. Brown shot 7-11 overall, 5-7 from three-point range.

Brown's effort not enough for Mizzou

UCLA met the challenge of Missouri 97-94 in overtime at Pauley Pavilion last night although the Show-Me-Starters enjoyed 14 points (4-8 from long distance) and seven rebounds from Jabari Brown.

Missouri took down Illinois 82-73 last night with Jabari Brown showing no rust based on 18 points plus seven boards.

Jabari Brown back on the court

Jabari Brown got back on the court last night for Missouri, scoring 12 points in 20 minutes against South Carlina State. Brown shot 3-9 overall, 1-7 from long distance and 5-6 at the foul line. He also passed for three assists.

Brown grabs a Tiger by the tail

Jeff Goodman is reporting that Jabari Brown is headed to Columbia -- Missouri that is.The Tigers are 11-0 to date this season.

It will be interesting if there is any eventual NCAA fallout on Missouri Coach Frank Haith, due to his days at Miami.

Oregon over Eastern Washington

Oregon beat Eastern Washington 73-65 last night with Jabari Brown totaling five points (a hard to believe 3-9 on free throws) plus five turnovers in 26 minutes and Collin Chiverton contributing right points in 15 minutes of play (foul trouble).

In an exhibition against Grand Canyon, Jabari Brown totaled 10 points pn 2-12 overall shooting in 21 minutes. He led Oregon with 10 free throw attempts but also committed six turnovers.

"Freshman guard Jabari Brown led the Ducks with 15.4 points per game, the only Oregon scorer in double figures, though defenses paid him close attention the last two games, both losses, when he struggled from the field and wound up yet another Duck on the negative end of the assist-turnover ratio, with four-to-14."

Here's Oregon Coach Dana Altman talking with Jeff Goodman about freshman Jabari Brown after the Ducks returned from their trip to Italy:
"...Who stood out: Jabari (Brown) scored the ball well for us and was the leading scorer on the trip. He also averaged about five rebounds a game. The first three games he scored fairly easy and then the scouting report got passed around and he forced a few shots the last two games. But for a freshman, it was a decent start..."
