A Kyle odister update

From the Cal Poly athletics site:

Second-year Cal Poly men’s basketball head coach Joe Callero confirmed late Wednesday afternoon that...sophomore guard Kyle Odister will not be available for the 2010-11 season

Odister (Sacramento, Calif.), who averaged 7.8 points per game, shot 45.5 percent from three-point range and made 16 starts as a true freshman last season, sustained an ankle injury. Odister will return as a redshirt sophomore for the 2011-12 campaign.

A year ago, Kyle Odister was on the East Coast, ankle deep in snow, a continent away from the comforts of home.

To get there, he did something you just don't see in high school sports, particularly in this region. Odister transferred in midseason out of Rio Americano, where the point guard was the leading talent of a playoff-bound bunch, and headed to the great unknown...

Kyle Oddister still headed to Cal Poly

Joshua Scroggins in the April 9 edition of the San Luis Obispo Tribune provides an update on Kyle Odister, formerly of Rio Americano High in Sacramento and New Hampton Prep in New Hampshire.

"...Odister said he’s still locked into Cal Poly after speaking with Callero by phone Thursday. Odister hadn’t wavered from his commitment to the Mustangs but was eager to hear if Callero would run an offense complimentary to his skills..."
