A Paris Davis update

You will find former Skyline High backcourter Paris Davis, the MVP of the Oakland Athletic League in 2011-12, at Fresno City College this year.

Davis headed up Sacto way

Check that. 6-foot-3 backcourter Paris Davis will be playing for Coach James Giacomazzi at Cosumnes River College come the fall.

Davis averaged 21.8 points per game and was the MVP of the Oakland Athletic League this past season.

Davis heading to AHC

If the plan stays in place, Paris Davis will be attending Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria and playing for Coach Ralph Gorton come September. The 6-foot-3 Davis was the MVP of the Oakland Athletic League this past season averaging 21.8 points per game for Skyline High.

Hancock is a member of the Western State Conference, North Division and went 7-5 in league, 20-10 overall in 2011-12.

Gorton has an interesting roster composition with players from Finland, Serbia, Sweden, Australia and Equador.

Skyline over Northgate by two

In the Windsor High tourney, Paris Davis' 21 points and 11 rebounds double-double led Skyline High to a 51-49 victory over Northgate High.

Preps of the Week

Athletes of the week from the Bay Area News Group:

POSITION: Guard

THE STAT LINE: Crum sank the game-winning shot in the last second to give the Dragons a 49-48 victory over Castro Valley in the Hayward Area Athletic League opener for both schools. He scored a team-high 17 points and added 10 steals. In a 47-34 victory over McClymonds, Crum scored 11 points and added five steals and three rebounds.

Honorable mention:

TYLER CHARRETTE, Berean Christian, basketball, Sr. -- Charrette powered the Eagles to a 83-75 win over Hoopa Valley in the first round of the Cloverdale Tournament with 46 points, including a 22-of-22 effort from the free throw line. He also had 14 rebounds and eight assists.

PARIS DAVIS, Skyline, basketball, Sr. -- Davis scored a game-high 35 points, including four in the final overtime, as the Titans outlasted Santa Teresa-San Jose 97-94 in six overtimes in the first round of the Granada Holiday Tournament. He also produced a game-high 27 points in a 73-72 overtime semifinal loss to Granada, and a game-high 16 points in a 67-36 win over Ripon in the third-place game.
