San Francisco State's James Albright has been named the Wilson/California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 19-25.
The senior forward led the Gators' to a 2-0 at the Carl's Jr. Mac Martin Invitational in Chico, Calif., this past weekend. Albright was named the Tournament MVP after averaging 17.5 points per game. He shot 70 percent (14-for-20) from the paint and 50 percent from the arch, and was perfect from the free-throw line, making six-for-six on the weekend.
Albright started off the weekend scoring a team high 14 points while shooting 5-of-8 from the field a perfect four-for-four from the charity stripe in the Gators' 60-55 win over No. 7 Seattle Pacific on Friday evening.
Then on Saturday, the Oakland, Calif., native scored a season high 21 points, grabbing four rebounds and dishing out one assist in SF State's come-from-behind 69-66 win over UC-Colorado Springs on Saturday evening. Albright was 9-for-12 from the field including making his only three-point field goal attempt while connecting on both of his attempts from the charity stripe.
For the season, Albright is averaging 10.8 points per game while shooting 54.5% from the field.
