In the opening round of the California Collegiate Athletic Association tournament, Cal State Stanislaus was down by three to Cal State Los Angeles after the initial 20 minutes but outscored the Southlanders by nine in the second half to win 58-52.
Rob Walters led the Warriors with a 17 point, 14 rebound double-double while frontcourt teammate Marcus Bell totaled 11 points, nine boards and a pair of blocked shots.
