Buoyed by a 46-21 second half, Cañada College bested visiting San Joaquin Delta College 73-52 on Friday.
Stockton Record: "At Redwood City, the 12th-seeded Mustangs had a four-point lead (31-27) at halftime but the Colts pulled away with a 16-2 run midway through the second half which was aided by five Delta turnovers.
"We kept the tempo exactly where we wanted in the first half and we took some great shots," Delta coach Rich Ressa said. "But they are a team which feeds off turnovers."
Jovian Cormier had 14 points for the Mustangs (16-12), John Berna had 11 and Cameron Pieters had 10. Mike Pickney had 19 points for the No. 5 Colts (22-7)."
