"Sophomores Corbin Koch and Daniel Rosenbaum have been tabbed 2016-17 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) All-Conference announced today by the league office.
The two Pomona-Pitzer Sagehen take home All-SCIAC honors as Koch was named First Team All-SCIAC while Rosenbaum earned Second Team All-SCIAC honors this season.
Koch earns All-SCIAC honors for the first time in his collegiate career as he led the Sagehens this season with 15.5 points per game and notched his career-high with 28 points against SCIAC rival Claremont-Mudd-Scripps this season. Koch was the leading force for this offense all season long as he shot 40.3% from the field and 41% from beyond the arc.
Rosenbaum make his way into the SCIAC postseason awards for the second-straight season as he was named the SCIAC Newcomer of the Year during his freshman campaign. Rosenbaum ended his sophomore season with 14.7 points per game and a 46.2% field goal percentage and shot 41.2% from three-point territory. Rosenbaum also led the Sagehens this year with 6.3 rebounds per game and a career-high 36 points and 18 rebounds against La Verne.
"Congratulations to both Corbin and Daniel for this honor", said Head Coach Charles Katsiaficas. "This recognition obviously speaks directly about their talents and the strong season they enjoyed; but what I appreciate most about them is that they are great teammates. We had a relatively young group, and their leadership throughout the year was invaluable."
The Sagehens finished this season with a 14-12 overall record and 10-6 in conference play, which landed them in fourth place in conference play. Pomona-Pitzer split with the conference champions, CMS, in the regular season and fell to the Stags in a narrow 70-64 loss at Roberts Pavilion to end the year. "
