Former Merritt and Oakland Tech guard Bellot earns All Conference honors

"Denzel Bellot was named to the All-Heartland Conference First Team. Bellot's honors come two days after being named Heartland Conference Player of the Week. In the final week of the regular season, Bellot averaged 26 points per game and led the team to two road wins. The biggest win of the week came on Saturday, February 25. Bellot picked up 28 points in a 100-95 overtime win against Newman. The win helped TAMIU capture a share of the 2016-17 Heartland Conference title. Bellot averaged 13.7 points per game in the 2016-17 season and connected on 59 three-point shots."
