"The Tennessee State men’s basketball team strengthened its frontcourt on Thursday with the addition of 6’8 forward Stokley Chaffee (Oakland, Calif.) for the upcoming 2017-18 season. Chaffee will have two years of eligibility remaining.
“We are delighted that Stokley has decided to join our program,” TSU Head Coach Dana Ford said. “He comes from a winning program that has experienced tremendous success. He is a phenomenal athlete that plays with a high motor. He will certainly make a positive impact on our program.”
Chaffee makes his way to Nashville after spending the 2016-17 season excelling at Las Positas College, a junior college in Livermore, Calif. As a sophomore, the athletic forward averaged a double-double with 13.0 points and 10.4 rebounds per game while shooting 56 percent from the field.
Helping Las Positas post 22 wins and a No. 13 state ranking, Chaffee proved to be one of the most dominant forces on the glass in California. His 147 total offensive rebounds were number one in the state, and his 37 blocked shots provided the Hawks a capable rim protector.
Chaffee was selected to the All-Tournament team at the James Clark Classic at Cosumnes River College while also being named MVP of the Tony Costello Memorial Tournament at Las Positas College. Playing in the highly competitive Coast-North Conference, Chaffee was a consensus First Team All-Conference choice and became the second player in school history to be recognized as a First Team All-State selection.
Chaffee played his freshman season at the Division I level at the University of San Francisco in 2015-16."
