It certainly was Angelo Caloiaro time on The Hilltop this season as the senior led Coach Rex Walters' squad with 14.2 points per game and was a very close second with both his 6.0 boards plus his 2.4 assists per contest. he shot 49% overall, 39% from long range and 79% at the foul line.
Additionally, former Mitty guard Jay Wey played just over six minutes each time out, including two starts. He averaged 2.3 points per contest, shooting 39%, 42% and 50%.
The Dons finished 20-14 overall in 2011-2012 and 8-8 in West Coast Conference action.

St. Mary's 83, USF 78
Rob Jones and Brad Waldow totaled 11 points/13 rebounds/five assists and 12 points/six boards respectively as St. Mary's got past USF 83-78 last night. Angelo Caloiaro had an off-shooting night for the Dons but still contributed seven rebounds and six assists. It's the Gaels versus Gonzaga tonight for the West Coast Conference tournament championship.

USF takes down Loyola Marymount
USF proved seven points better than Loyola Marymount in the West Coast Conference quarterfinals 67-60. Senior Angelo Caloiaro didn't shoot all that well but ended up with eight points, six rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals.

Caloiaro paces USF to victory
USF topped Portland 87-66 tonight behind 19 points from Angelo Caloiaro. It's Loyola Marymount next for the Dons in the quarterfinals of the West Coast Conference tournament.

Led by Rob Jones 14/14 double-double plus Brad Waldow's own 10/12 double-double, the visiting Gaels proved to be seven points better than the Dons tonight. Angelo Caloiaro posted a line of 12 points, right rebounds and five assists, the latter two numbers the best on the USF team for the night.

Holy Cross five better than USF
Host Holy Cross took down USF 88-83 as Angelo (Archbishop Mitty) Caloiaro's very efficient 16 points and four rebounds weren't enough for the Dons. Former Miramonte High big Eric Obeysekere carried the night for the Crusaders with 15 rebounds, 10 points and five blocked shots.
