It Santa Barbara by a trey

It was UC Santa Barbara 83-80 over host Santa Clara with Gauchos TJ Taylor being credited for six assists in 22 minutes of play and Nate Garth also passing for five assists. Bronco Niyi Harrison went for seven points plus 11 boards.

The seasons for Niyi Harrison, John McArthur and Robert Garrett

As a team, Santa Clara went 8-22 plus 0-16 in West Coast Conference contests.

Former Bellarmine big Niyi Harrison now Bronco junior averaged 10.7 points and 6.3 rebounds in just under 25 minutes a contest. He shot 55% from the floor, 65% on free throws.

Sophomore frontcourter John McArthur put up 5.6 points and 4.2 rebounds in 23 and a half minutes a game, shooting 41% and 80% for the season.

Frosh seven-footer Robert Garrett averaged 1.5 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.7 blocked shots in eight and a half minutes a game. He shot 56% overall, 26% at the charity stripe.

Loyola Marymount was a trey better than Santa Clara tonight -- Niyi Harrison posted nine points and 11 rebounds for the visiting Broncos.

St. Mary's has no trouble with SC

St. Mary's bounced right back defeating Santa 82-67 powered by 25 points and 12 boards from Rob Jones. Brad Waldow contributed eight points, seven boards and three blocked shots. Niyi Harrison posted 12 markers and six rebounds for the Broncos. SC's Kevin Foster again did not play.

It was down in Silicon Valley but USF still topped Santa Clara 90-77, paced by 20 points from Angelo Caloiaro. Niyi Harrison led the Broncos starters with 13.

Santa Clara falls at home

Niyi Harrison totaled 11 points and nine boards in host Santa Clara's loss to Loyola Marymount. Harrison and others didn't start because of team violations and Kevin Foster sat out the game for the same reason.

It was visiting St. Mary's 93-77 over Santa Clara behind twin double doubles by Brad Waldow 14/16 (eight offensive, eight defensive) and Rob Jones 14/15. Niyi Harrison wasn't too shabby himself with a 23/9 Bronco evening.

A last-second shot (which should have been ruled illegal) did in host Santa Clara as Wagner pulled out a 64-62 victory. Former CCSF star Jonathan Williams scored 13 points and nabbed five rebounds for the visitors while Niyi Harrison provided 10 points and nine boards for the Broncos.
