Weber State by four

Weber State topped Portland State 73-69 last night in the City of Roses with Jordan Richardson leading the Wildcats with 14 points (4-5 from long distance) and five assists while Davion Berry was big too with 12 points plus seven assists. Frank Otis added eight rebounds, four points, four assists and a trio of blocked shots in an all-around effort.

Weber romps

Weber State had no trouble with Utah Valley State, winning 89-56. For the Wildcats, Frank Otis posted 14 points and five rebounds in 22 minutes of court time. Davion Berry scored eight points but didn't shoot well, 4-12. Jordan Richardson produced five assists and four points.

An update of the Bay Area guys at Weber State

Weber State has played two games thus far this season and here are the very early numbers on the Wildcat Bay Area talents:

* Davion (Hayward High) Berry - 19 points, 3.5 boards, three assists, shooting 52% overall, 56% from three-point range

* Jordan (West High) Richardson - 11.5 points, 4.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds a contest

* Frank (McClymonds High) Otis - 10.5 point and 8.5 boards a game

Berry, Otis and Richardson star in latest Weber win

It was the lions Wildcats and the Christians Friday night as host Weber State trampled Arizona Christian 110-52.  

Davion (Hayward High) Berry topped Weber with 17 points, Frank (McClymonds High) Otis posted a 13/10 double-double while Jordan (West High) Richardson contributed 15 points plus seven assists. All three started.

The seasons for Jordan Richardson & Frank Otis


Weber State's Jordan Richardson averaged 4.1 points per game as a sophomore, shooting 37%, 41% and 79% respectively. He started 14 of 32 games, playing a bit more than 20 minutes a contest. Richardson also posted a marvelous 68 to 24 assist-to-turnover ratio.


Teammate Frank Otis suffered a injury halfway or so through the season, basically shutting him down. In 12 games (seven starts, 17 minutes a game), he averaged 5.2 points and 3.8 boards a contest, shooting 69% from the floor and 67% at the free throw stripe. Otis will be a senior next go-around.

Weber State finished 25-7 this season, 14-2 in the Big Sky Conference.

Weber State wins again

Jonathan Reed/Big Sky Basketball has the game report on Weber State's 79-70 victory over Montana State. Damian Lillard scored 17 points and Jordan Richardson led the Wildcats with four assists.

Weber over Northern Arizona

Northern Arizona focused on Damian Lillard so it was the other Weber Staters who emerged in the Wildcats 81-67 victory over Northern Arizona. Lillard still finished with 18 points, six boards, six assists and a trio of steals. Jordan Richardson contributed 10 points and three assists plus Frank Otis returned from injury to score 12 points on 5-5 shooting.

It was host Weber State by 11 over Sacramento State last night. The NorCal talent highlights:

* Damian Lillard, Weber State - 22 points, nine rebounds

* Jordan Richardson, Weber State - six assists

* John Dickson, Sac State - 20 points, five boards

Weber State with another victory

Weber State had little trouble with Idaho State, winning 78-64 as Damian Lillard scored 25 points. Teammate Jordan Richardson contributed seven points and three assists. Frank Otis remains sidelined with an injury.

Weber romps over Mayville

Damian Lillard's 28 points and 12 boards powered Weber State to a 108-57 victory over out-manned Mayville State. Also, Jordan (West High, Tracy) Richardson put up a career high 23 points, including 7-8 from long distance.

Lillard at it again

31 points from Damian (Oakland High) Lillard (5-8 from long distance) led Weber State to an 84-66 victory over Southern Utah University.

Jordan (West High, Tracy) Richardson got a start and produced 10 points plus four assists in 35 minutes for Weber. 

Frank (McClymonds High) Otis injured a knee last game and didn't play.
