"Averaging 13.5 points over four games and helping his team to a 2-2 record, UC Davis senior Brynton Lemar (San Diego, Calif./St. Augustine HS) earned Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week accolades.
The 6-4 guard scored a career-high 23 points to lift the Aggies to an 81-72 victory over Causeway rival Sacramento State on Monday at the new Golden 1 Center in the Capital City. He made 7-of-13 floor shots, including 3-of-5 from three-point range, and drained all but one of his seven free throw attempts to lead the way. He also contributed six rebounds, five assists and a blocked shot.
Lemar went on a personal scoring spree of 14 straight points midway through the second half to keep the Hornets at bay.
In three games at the GCI Great Alaska Shootout, Lemar keyed a 64-58 win against Drake after posting 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting. He had three treys for the second time during the week and again dished out fie assists.
For the week, Lemar was potent from three-point range, hitting 7-of-13 attempts for 53.8%. He also sparkled at the charity stripe, shooting 86.7% on 13-of-15 shooting.
Lemar totalled 12 rebounds, 15 assists and three steals over the four contests..."
