The following are the northern California selections:
* James Akinjo (Salesian, Richmond)
Earlier this week, this junior guard scored 29 points during a low scoring 45-36 win over St. John Bosco of Bellflower in an MLK Classic contest played at St. Mary’s College.
* Keshawn Bruner (Burbank, Sacramento)
The Titans are off to a 15-2 start to the season and he is a big reason why as he is averaging 22.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. Bruner scored a season-high 36 points and grabbed 11 rebounds last week during a 76-37 win over Johnson of Sacramento. He also scored 29 points and grabbed another 11 rebounds later in the week when the Titans defeated Valley of Sacramento 81-50
* Damari Milstead (Moreau Catholic, Hayward)
Looking like he was already in college, Milstead hit five 3-pointers and finished with 36 points when the Mariners defeated Jesuit of Carmichael 79-67 at the MLK Classic at St. Mary’s College.
* Kahlil Spain (Richmond)
Wins this season have been tough to get for the Oilers, but they won their fourth game this season and second in a row when this junior had 30 points during a 59-58 win over Pinole Valley of Pinole.
