We were among those who braved the stormy weather last Friday night to get to a game and the one attended was to see the Mariners against league rival Newark Memorial of Newark.

We were rewarded with an outstanding performance as this highly regarded freshman tied his season-high with 30 points during a 78-47 win. Going 11 of 16 from the floor, he also had four assists and three steals and looked like a complete player.

Our own Ronnie Flores before the season started had Walker as our No. 1 player in the state for the Class of 2020. That’s looking like a good call."
