Romero, Crabb and Wong doing well

At Cal Baptist, former Yuba College players Anthony Romero and Kevin Crabb are progressing well.

Romero is on the court just under 23 minutes a game and putting up 9.0 points while grabbing 2.8 rebounds a game. He's shooting 48%, 47% and 86% respectively.

Crabb is playing 16 minutes a contest and averaging 6.8 points plus 6.4 rebounds an outing. He's shooting 63% overall.

In the starting lineup is backcourter Kyle Wong, ex-of Skyline College. He's scoring 11.9 points each time out while shooting 50%, 47% and 73% respectively and playing 31 minutes per game.

A trio of Nor Cal talent at Cal Baptist

Cal Baptist handled Fresno Pacific 93-75 on Tuesday night with a trio Nor-Cal based CB talents aiding in the victory:

* Kyle (Mills High/Skyline College) Wong - 15 points (4-5 on three-point shooting), six assists

* Anthony (Rocklin High/Yuba College) Romero - nine points, four rebounds, four assists

* Kevin (Roseville High/Yuba College) Crabb - six rebounds, four points and two blocked shots

Romero heads south

Yuba College sophomore Anthony Romero has cast his lot with California Baptist University (CBU). The 6-foot-1 backcourter averaged 14.5 points per game last season for Coach Doug Cornelius, shooting 57%, 48% and 82% respectively. He also passed for 91 assists while nabbing 46 steals. Yuba won the Bay Valley Conference during both years Romero played with the 49ers.

He scored 31 points against Mt. San Antonio was a season high.

Romero came to the 49ers after playing at Rocklin High.

CBU plays in the Pacific West Conference and finished 16-10 overall, 10-8 in league action in 2011-12. The PacWest has four members in Hawaii, three NorCal locations in Academy of Art University, Notre Dame de Namur and Dominican University plus one in Arizona and another in Utah.

Yuba tops Santa Rosa by 12

The court firm of Butterfield and Romero provided the push Yuba College needed to come back and top Santa Rosa Junior College 82-70. SpencerB totaled 28 points (earning MVP honors) and AnthonyR added 22 points.
