From a
Shawn Harrison Utah State season review article:
"Now to my annual awards and memorable moments from the 2012-13 season.
Most Valuable Player: He started the year coming off the bench, but by the end was a vital part of the Aggies’ game plan.
Junior Spencer Butterfield became the heart and soul of this
team. The 6-foot-3 guard ended up starting 24 games and averaging 29.3
minutes a game. He flirted with a triple-double on several occasions and
had a streak of five games with a double-double.
For the season, Butterfield had seven double-doubles. He had a
season-best 20 rebounds against Texas State and scored a season-high 23
points against UT Arlington.
He averaged 12.2 ppg, 6.6 rpg and 2.7 apg.
His 83.5 percent shooting from the foul line was among the best in the
WAC and he led the team with 48 3-pointers, while making 49.8 percent of
his shots from the field."
