There's a lesson to be learned here
This article is about a New York City young man but contains universal applicability. That is, we usually have no clue about the background of a player -- what their life has been like -- and yet we utilize the black versus white, good versus evil broad stroke of typical fandom when cheering and booing, even at the high school level. Sometimes, it should all be the former despite the color of a uniform.
