This is sad, sad, sad

He wasn't the most physically talented player but he got the most from his abilities and now his life was cut short.

When a family member and neighbor walked into the tony, spacious ranch home near Los Gatos, they found a horrifying scene: the bloody bodies of a prominent developer and his son, a straight-A college student who was overcoming cancer.

Investigators now believe the father shot his son, a former basketball standout at Valley Christian High School in San Jose, and then turned the gun on himself, this newspaper learned Thursday, a day after the grisly discovery.

"We are investigating this incident as a possible murder-suicide," said Santa Clara County sheriff's Capt. Ken Binder, declining to elaborate on motivation, method or the identities of the dead men.

But multiple sources identified the slaying suspect as Imad "Ed" Daou, 50, an official at Civitaf Corp. He is believed to have slain his 22-year-old son, Andrew, a business/finance student at the University of San Diego...
