An Aaron Hendricks update

Former Del Oro High standout Aaron Hendricks, currently at New Hampton School in New Hampshire, won the Skills Challenge Three Point Shooting Contest at the Hoophall Classic held in Springfield (MA) this weekend.

The Classic is an invite only tournament featuring top players and teams from around the country. The contest and a lineup of games were featured on ESPN3. You can see the Skills Challenge on the Replay area of ESPN3.com -- it's titled: Geico ESPNHS Basketball Showcase Skills Challenge.

Aaron also was recently honored as the December Athlete of the Month for New Hampton:

A two-year member of the Men's Varsity A Basketball team,  Aaron Hendricks ’12 always sets a positive example for his teammates by demonstrating an exemplary commitment to his academics and in his willingness to compete in both practice and in games. He is a valued player who is willing to accept his role and is eager to help his team. Aaron consistently sacrifices his body and is second on the team in charges taken this year. Aaron is most often recognized for the work he does from behind the three-point line where he shoots better than 50 percent. Over the holiday break, he scored in double figures during each game of the Mercer Invitational Tournament at The Hill School and was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament for his consistent, strong play. The Athletic Department is thrilled to award the December Athlete of the Month award goes to the "Human Hoop," Aaron Hendricks.
