A Jeremy Russotti update

"About a month ago, Phil [Doherty] and I just went to Las Vegas for a few reasons. First, we were brought in by Bishop Gorman High school to train their top varsity guys. I think they are a Top 10 program right now and, of course, they have the #1 player in Shabazz Muhammad, Rosco Allen (Stanford commit), Demetris Morant (UNLV), Ben Carter (Oregon), as well as the #1 Frosh in the country, 7-foot Stephen Zimmerman.

Phil and I had a really good time with Coach [Grant] Rice and the Bishop Gorman players. It is a top flight program and the players GET IT in relation to working hard and getting results. The players definitely carry themselves as a mini-college program and were very open to our training.

Shabazz Muhammad was everything that I heard from others. People always say that they work out hard. Shabazz doesn't work out, he maxes out! To watch the #1 player in the country working harder than than the 100,000 best player in the country really shows his character and potential.

Stephen Zimmerman was a huge surprise. He is mature well beyond his years and has great hands, footwork, athleticism and can shoot the 3. He has as much potential as I have seen in past 10 years.

Here's Coach Rice on the session: "Jeremy flew down to Las Vegas and worked with our team for a couple of hours this fall. Kids these days don't always buy into coaches and people they aren't familiar with, but Jeremy commanded their attention immediately. Right from the beginning of the workout, the team was intrigued and engaged in what he was teaching. Jeremy progressed from ball handling to shooting to individual moves, and kept the team interested and ready to learn. Some of my players exchanged numbers with Jeremy and plan to work with him in the future. I highly recommend any player ready to step up their game and learn from the best to get in touch with Jeremy"

It was also great because Los Angeles Dodgers and All-Star performer Matt Kemp just showed up during our training session. He saw Shabazz tweeted that I was coming into town to train him and Matt was in Vegas so he thought he would check out who the #1 player in the country was and watch him work. Matt was a really cool and humble guy. He was out there shooting jumpers with the kids, praising them for working hard, and letting us all know the workouts were amazing. Shabazz can really draw attention, even with MLB players.

Also, the parents of the players mentioned that both Shabazz and Stephen are very interested in joining my Green Room Training Program this summer. It will be great to see both of those guys out here training hard in the Bay Area.

I am actually flying to Los Angeles next week to sit down with Clayton Williams, the head of Dream Vision, where both kids play (Clayton Williams). We are going to work together closely with Dream Vision in bringing the top training possible to their chapters in Los Angeles, Arizona, Vegas, and the San Diego areas.

Phil and I area also flying back to see the guys on January 21 for the Findlay Prep vs. Bishop Gorman game, and to meet up with the Dream Vision guys as well as the families. Should be a lot of fun and an exciting game.

Lastly, the footage will also be shown on nationally recognized hoop site Ballislife.com in the near future."
