Cabrillo College 76, City College of San Francisco 70 OT

It was visiting Cabrillo College six better in overtime than CCSF last night. Tyler Velasquez went for a team-leading 24 points for the Seahawks, aided by Aaron Short's 18, 15 from Thomas Pierce and Frank Rogers' 14/11 double-double.

The Cabrillo College Seahawks (24-3) won tonight at the City College of San Francisco 76-70 in overtime, extending its win streak to sixteen in a row. The Seahawks, behind the oustanding play and 12 points from Aaron Short, kept the Rams at bay and went in at the half up 34-33.

The second half was back and forth all night with no team leading by more than four. CCSF (27-3) took a four-point lead with 8:32 but Cabrillo came right back after a timeout to tie the score and take a four-point lead of their own with 4:25 to play. CCSF hit a three-point shot to cut the lead to one with 1:29 to play.

Cabrillo then missed a three-point shot and then fouled. CCSF connected on one of two free throws to tie the game with :41 to play. CCSF forced a five second violation on the inbounds, giving CCSF the ball under its own basket. The Rams scored on a dunk to go up two. Cabrillo then got an offensive rebound put-back plus a foul. Thomas Pierce converted the free throw to go up one with 6.1 to go. CCSF called timeout and then went to the basket and got fouled with one second to play down one. CCSF converted the second of the two throws to tie the game at 62.

CCSF won the tip and immediately hit a baseline jumper. Cabrillo's Tyler Velasquez was fouled and made one of two. CCSF then hit a three to go up four.

Velasquez connected on a trey to cut the lead to one. Aaron Short nabbed a steal but missed the layup and CCSF fouled while trying to convert the missed layup into a layup of their own, resulting in Cabrillo getting possession back.

The Seahawks scored on a backcut pass layup -- Aaron Short from Velasquez -- to take the lead by one. CCSF hit a tough floater to take the lead back by one.

Aaron Short hit a deep three to put the Seahawks up two and then CCSF missed a three-point attempt.

Frank Rogers then is fouled trying to offensive rebound and goes to the line in the double bonus. Rogers made the first and missed the second to put the Seahawks up two. CCSF attacked the basket and was fouled but converted only one of two.

Tyler Velasquez scored on a dribble-drive layup to put the Seahawks up four with :29 to go.

Velasquez then stole the ball but gets tied up -- possession arrow to the Seahawks. Cabrillo got the  ball under own basket with :21 to go.

The Seahawks turned it over on the inbounds but Frank Rogers stole ball at mid-court and advanced the ball Aaron Short who is fouled with :14 to go.

Short hits both to go up six 76-70.
