Thought about not posting this because of a local player being involved but it's such a graphic and gross example of unacceptable behavior.
Point One: The coach at College of Charleston, Doug Wojcik, is on leave while his behavior is being investigated and resulting actions, if any, determined. Current players, former players and at least one former assistant coach offered very harsh things to say.
Point Two: Over the summer, sophomore Theo Johnson, formerly of Franklin High, transferred from CoC to Liberty University.
One recently completed official report (and please do read as much of it as you can stand) contained these particular behavioral excesses directed towards Johnson:
Regarding Theo Johnson, Player 1 recalled Coach Wojcik stating to him (in front of his teammates), that the “only thing you [Theo] can do is run and jump. You can’t shoot or dribble.” Player 1 recalled that after the JMU game, in a film session, Coach Wojcik made Theo stand up in the locker room in front of the team. While standing there, Coach Wojcik told Theo to tell the team what he is good at. Theo then responded that he is good at shooting. Coach Wojcik responded by saying that he is not good at shooting. Theo then said he is good at dribbling. Wojcik responded by saying he is not good at dribbling. Theo then responded with passing. Wojcik stated he was not good at this either. Player 1 stated that during the encounter, Coach Wojcik essentially told Theo he was not good at anything. Player 1 stated that he felt extremely bad for Theo because Coach Wojcik was humiliating him in front of his teammates. Player 1 stated Wojcik has commented to Player 1 that Theo “wasn’t raised right.”
Regarding Theo Johnson, Player 2 recalled that the team was playing in a tournament in California. Theo is from California and his mother was at the game. Player 2 heard Coach Wojcik say to Theo something to the effect of, “Tell your mom to shut the hell up. I care about you more than she does.”
Also regarding Theo Johnson, Player 2 stated that Coach Wojcik once said to him something to the effect of, “Why are you getting bad grades. This school isn’t even hard. When you graduate, you might as well burn your degree."
And this is the mild stuff.
