Soquel High's Sam Walters is the Santa Cruz Sentinel's Boys Athlete of the Year and headed to UC Santa Barbara to play basketball as a walk-on. One snippet:
"...Walters, who plans on studying biology, recently met with his future coaches and teammates for a basketball camp at UCSB and looks forward to working out and practicing with the team once he moves south in August..."
Also note the 4.267 grade point average.
Former northern California prepsters John Green, TJ Taylor, Michael Bryson and Gabe Vincent already reside on the Gaucho roster. 2014 Miramonte guard Joey Goodreault is also walking-on.
