Via Santa Cruz Sentinel: "The UC Santa Cruz men’s basketball team couldn’t catch Cal Lutheran on Sunday, losing their final game of their Mission Inn Thanksgiving Classic, 65-61, to Cal Lutheran at Kaiser Permanente Arena.
The Slugs trailed 39-28 at the half and by 12 points with 2:40 remaining. They sliced the Kingsmen’s lead to three points with 11 seconds left, but couldn’t close the gap.
Corey Cilia and Ilan Zur came off the bench to lead UCSC in scoring with 17 and 13 points, respectively. Zur also made a team-high five rebounds. Adam Marlow added nine points with four assists and three steals. The Slugs shot 38 percent from the field and 68 percent from the free-throw line..."
Cilia is a sophomore guard out of Half Moon Bay High and Zur from Summerfield Waldorf High in Santa Rosa.
