Boys Basketball Player of the Week
Isaiah Halsey (Liberty Ranch, Galt) Sr.
A sixth man from last season’s 27-6 team at Liberty Ranch, Halsey has emerged as a leading man this season. In fact, he’s already broken one school record set last year by graduated DeAndre Stallings, who was one of the top scorers in Northern California.
Halsey led the Hawks to last weekend’s Woodland Tournament championship with 93 points in three games, which is two more than Stallings had in a single tourney. The 5-foot-10 guard had 28 points and 12 rebounds against Napa, 31 points and six rebounds against Delta of Clarksburg and 34 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in the title game vs. Highlands of North Highlands.
With the wins, head coach Josh Williams’ squad also improved to 6-0 for the best start in school history. Halsey also is averaging 26.2 ppg."
