Justice Harris, a senior guard on the Chavez boys team, is not to be trifled with.
Harris, a returning All-Area honorable mention guard, is the leading returning scorer as 6-5 forward Lewis Hayes graduated.
And Harris, No. 6 on my Countdown to Tipoff returner rankings, poured out a career-high 40 points to help Chavez beat West 91-88 in overtime on Friday in both teams’ regular-season opener.
Harris can be the guiding force behind an outright SJAA championship, to follow last year's split crown with Bear Creek. The opening win is impressive for Chavez, as West is no joke behind junior forward Ephraim Estell and senior guard Isaiah Grady."
