Merritt 55, DVC 44 (SJCC tourney)

On Saturday in San Jose, Merritt College bested Diablo Valley College 55-44 propelled by a 25-15 second 20 minutes. Freshman forward Lewis (Chavez High) Hayes, who shot 6-7 overall, co-led the Thunderbirds with 12 points alongside frosh guard Omari (Sacred Heart Cathedral High) Brown. Hayes grabbed six boards with Brown distributing five assists.

Interesting shooting numbers for Merritt: 51% overall, 50% from three and 100% at the foul line (5-5).
