From the Napa Valley Register: "The Napa Valley College men’s basketball team handed Feather River, ranked No. 1 in the state, its first loss of the season, 79-70, in the first round of the Kris Kringle Tournament at Santa Rosa Junior College on Thursday night.
Isaiah Brown led the Storm (3-10) with a season-high 29 points. His previous season best was 26 points in a 96-89 loss to the same Golden Eagles (14-1) six days before at the Foothill Tournament in Los Altos Hills.
Rae Hubbard added 15 points and Napa High product Tom Salsman scored a season-high 14, only his second double-figure game of the season.
Napa Valley trailed only 37-35 at halftime, then took a double-digit lead down the stretch and held on.
“The guys bought in and defended really well, and shot very well,” Storm head coach Steve Ball said. “We started driving the ball and it opened up some penetration angles for us, and we did excellent job on the defensive glass...”
